ROC V - 09/22/12
pour so disaster was averted!ROC V kicked off with Amanda Daly from Port Jefferson’s School of Rock Great
After Amanda’s performance Exit Verona hit the stage and they set the tone for the day, as they ROCked the
Biergarten!  They have been referred to us for years and WE were so glad they were able to perform.  For
they are true musicians who take pride in their craft and they really wanted to help the benefit be a success,
and that they certainly did!  Thank you guys and see you next year for ROC VI!

Next up was the return of Hat Trick and what can you say about Hat Trick?  Other than that they are PERFECT
for the Biergarten and ROC, as they play classic songs from all era’s and bring a true acoustic touch to their
performance! From all of us at ROC Inc, we would like to thank Larry, Barry and Ron for the past two years
of donating their time to the cause!  You guys are the best!

After Hat Trick, ROC Inc was glad to have Erica Finnergan, an 8-year-old cancer survivor. She was diagnosed
with cancer at 10 months of age, thru some tough times she prevailed and is cancer free. Like the previous
year she told her story and then sang “You Light Up My Life” by Debbie Gibson, once again she brought some
tears to the crowd, but more importantly she brought a sense of hope for others affected by this deadly
disease and showed that Cancer can be cured! ROC Inc can’t thank Erica and her mom Tina enough for being
a part of the last 3 Rock Outs, and we hope Erica will continue to return to future ROC’s to show the fght can
be won! God Bless Erica, you are a true inspiration and a fighter! YOU ROC!

After Erica’s performance Modern Justice took the stage and tore it up!  They have the perfect complement of
drums, electric-acoustic, harmonies and lead singer Anthony’s powerful vocals!  A great combination and a
great group of guys, as well as class musicians!  The crowd loved them and we are proud to announce they
will be breaking the rules and returning for a third time to ROC VI! Thank you guys for all your years of
entertaining us and being a big part in helping Rock Out Cures deliver a great day of music!

So as the skies began to cloud up and turn pink, Guilty Pleasures, all dressed to the 80’s, came out to close
out ROC V.  And they took the party to a new level, as they had the crowd on their feet and dancing!
It was the perfect nitecap to a GREAT DAY! Even though the rains finally did rear their ugly head at about 10:
05pm, cutting Guilty Pleasures short, it didn’t matter for the day was filled with great music, family,
friends and good times!

It was great seeing Burt Young come back and say hello to the crowd. He is a great and generous person,
ROC Inc is so happy he has taken time out of his busy schedule to be a part of our past two events.
And this year he donated one of his paintings for auction, class act!

What a sight to see so many people from the community (over 1400 with kids) come together to help the cause
and make a difference. I myself was blown away, but then again, the Long Island Community always seems
to step up and help others in need, great to see!
